John 11:25-26 (ESV)
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?"
Talk About It
When Jesus spoke these words to Martha, her brother Lazarus had died. She was very sad and thought everything was hopeless. But Jesus told her something amazing—He is stronger than death! Jesus didn't just say He could help with death; He said He IS the resurrection and the life. That means Jesus has power over death itself. When Jesus rose from the dead on Easter morning, He proved that death couldn't keep Him down. And because Jesus conquered death, everyone who believes in Him will live forever with God. Death isn't the end for people who love Jesus—it's just the beginning of an amazing new life in heaven. Jesus asks us the same question He asked Martha: "Do you believe this?" When we say yes, we're trusting that Jesus really is stronger than anything, even death itself.
For Parents to Explain
Dear Jesus, thank You for being stronger than death. Help us trust that You have power over everything and that You give us life that lasts forever.
Family Activities
Victory Banner
- Use a large piece of paper or fabric to create a family "victory banner" that says "Jesus is stronger than death!"
- Let each family member draw or write something that shows Jesus' power (like a cross, empty tomb, or rainbow).
- Hang your banner somewhere everyone can see it this week.
- Each time you see it, remember that Jesus has victory over everything that scares us.
Power vs. Power
- Take turns naming things that seem really strong or powerful (like storms, lions, or superheroes).
- After each one, everyone shouts "But Jesus is stronger!"
- Talk about how Jesus' power is different—He uses His strength to love us and save us.
- End by praying together, asking Jesus to help you remember His power when you feel scared or worried.
Family Prayer
Now take turns thanking Jesus for one way He shows His power in your life.
